Occupational Therapist

The Position

As an Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Complete comprehensive occupational therapy assessments
  • Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations
  • Develop practical intervention plans that support participation, independence and quality of life
  • Provide therapy in clinic, home, school and community settings
  • Work collaboratively with Behaviour Support Practitioners, Speech Pathologists, psychologists, families and broader support teams
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and meet NDIS documentation requirements
  • Participate in case reviews, professional supervision and team development
  • Travel to regional or remote communities where required and mutually agreed

What We Are Looking For

The successful applicant will have:

  • A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia through Ahpra, or demonstrated eligibility to obtain registration
  • Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills
  • An understanding of person-centred, trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team
  • A current Australian driver licence, or eligibility to obtain one
  • NDIS Worker Screening clearance, Working with Children clearance and police check, or willingness to obtain them
  • Australian working rights or eligibility for employer-sponsored migration
Occupational therapists must hold registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia before practising in Australia. Internationally qualified applicants must complete the applicable registration process. Experience within the NDIS, paediatrics, disability, mental health, assistive technology or remote practice will be highly regarded. Applications from capable early-career practitioners will also be considered where appropriate supervision can be provided.

MyHealth Solutions is a registered NDIS provider supporting children, young people and adults with disability, communication, developmental, behavioural and mental health support needs. Our clinicians work collaboratively with participants, families, schools, Behaviour Support Practitioners, support coordinators and other allied health professionals.

The Positions

As a Speech Pathologist, you will:

  • Complete communication, language, speech and swallowing assessments within your competence and scope of practice
  • Assess and support functional communication needs
  • Develop evidence-based, participant-centred therapy programs
  • Prepare high-quality assessment reports, therapy plans and NDIS recommendations
  • Support the implementation of augmentative and alternative communication systems where required
  • Provide intervention in clinic, home, school and community settings
  • Build the capability of families, support workers, educators and other members of the participant's team

  • Contribute to service development and continuous quality improvement

What We Are Looking For

The successful applicants will have:

  • A recognised qualification in Speech Pathology
  • Current Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status with Speech Pathology Australia, or demonstrated eligibility to obtain it
  • Strong assessment, intervention and clinical report-writing skills
  • An understanding of neuroaffirming, person-centred, trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice
  • The ability to manage a clinical caseload with appropriate support
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
  • A current Australian driver licence, or eligibility to obtain one
  • NDIS Worker Screening clearance, Working with Children clearance and police check, or willingness to obtain them
  • Australian working rights or eligibility for employer-sponsored migration
Most Australian employers require Speech Pathologists to hold, or be eligible for, Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status. Overseas-qualified applicants generally require a suitable Speech Pathology Australia skills assessment through the applicable pathway. Experience in paediatric speech pathology, autism, AAC, PBS collaboration, adult disability, dysphagia, NDIS or remote service delivery will be highly regarded.
